Between February 2002 and March 2003 I circumnavigated 12,504 miles around the Australian continent on my bicycle, or push bike as they say there. After that I went to New Zealand for three months and met up with a friend and ended up pushing the total mileage to 14,115.7 miles (22717.02 km). I spent 269 days on my bike, 272 days not on my bike, and getting 67 flat tires over those 17 months.
I started and ended my 13 month lap around Australia at Luna Park in St. Kilda/Melbourne.. The distance around Australia (including Tasmania) ended up being about 20,281km (12,600 miles).
One fun thing I did during my trip was to visit six "confluences", which is where a whole-numbered latitude/longitude mark intersects for The Degree Confluence Project.

Robin has this garage that he is converting into a studio. Today he and MCQ ripped off every other flat panel ontop and put the lexan clear ones in...now it is all nice and sunny inside. Robin wanted a few photos of the place here to send to his mommy, so I took a bunch. At one point I took a picture of this apple with various things. I started taking so many I decided to turn it into a little bit of a story for Robin.
We spent a small part of the afternoon playing baseball, using walnuts and apples as a ball.
Stacey and I walked downtown to nerd out for an hour and go to the post office. On the way back though the golf course we took a few clock pics.
Robin took us up for a hike on the hill, got some good photos there. He kept us entertained with all kinds of stories and stuff.
Spent the evening playing Farkel with Stacey. She liked the game at first, but grew to hate it after it dragged on forever. Stacey is leaving tomorrow, all of us our blue inside, but none of us our saying anything.
